What is slow fashion and why does it matter? Slow fashion is a conscious approach to clothing that prioritises quality, craftsmanship, and longevity over speed and volume. At RUSTIQ, this means we make fewer pieces, make them better, and make them to last. We believe clothing should be worn, loved, and passed on — not discarded after a season.

How does your made-to-order model work? Every RUSTIQ garment is made specifically for you after you place your order. This means we carry no excess stock, produce no unnecessary waste, and every piece that leaves our studio was made with a real person in mind.

Can I request a custom or bespoke piece? Yes. If you'd like a garment made to your specific measurements or have a particular request, we offer a made-to-order custom service with a lead time of 2 weeks. Reach out to us directly and we'll guide you through the process.

Can you customise the size or length of a garment? Yes — this is one of the privileges of being a made-to-order brand. If you need a garment adjusted to your specific measurements or altered in length, we're happy to accommodate this at an additional fee. Simply email us before placing your order and we'll advise on what's possible and confirm the cost.

What fabrics do you use? We work exclusively in natural fabrics — primarily a linen, rayon blend and occasionally cotton. These materials breathe beautifully, soften with every wash, and are kinder to the environment than synthetic alternatives. We choose fabrics we would be happy for our own children to wear.

How do I care for my RUSTIQ garments? Natural fabrics are easy to care for when treated gently. We recommend a cool machine wash or gentle hand wash, reshape while damp, and hang to dry in the shade. Avoid tumble drying where possible. A cool iron brings linen back to life beautifully. Specific care instructions are printed on the label of every garment and can be found under our care guide which is under each product listing online.

What sizes do you offer? We offer a range of sizes. A full size guide is available under each individual product listing to help you find your best fit. If you're ever unsure, don't hesitate to reach out — we are happy to help.

Do you use AI models to display your garments? Yes, some of our product images feature AI-generated models. We made this choice thoughtfully — it allows us to show our garments across a range of body types and skin tones without the cost and waste of large-scale photo shoots. Our focus is always on showing you the fabric, the fit, and the details as accurately as possible.

Where do you ship to? We ship both locally within South Africa. Shipping costs and estimated delivery times are calculated at checkout based on your location. Please note that our 2-week production lead time applies before your order is dispatched.

How long will delivery take? All orders are made to order with a 2-week production lead time. This can change depending on many factors, but will always be displayed on the website - please do check if you are needing your order within a specific time frame. Once dispatched, delivery times vary depending on your location, orders typically arrive within 2–5 business days after dispatch. Once we have handed over to the courier we cannot confirm the exact time of arrival, it will be up to the customer to track their order.

Do you offer gift wrapping or gifting options? Absolutely — RUSTIQ makes a beautiful gift. If you'd like your order packaged as a gift, simply mention it in the comments section at checkout or drop us an email and we will take care of the rest. We're happy to include a handwritten note too, just let us know what you would like it to say.

What is your returns policy? Because every garment is made to order specifically for you, we are unable to accept returns or exchanges for change of mind. However, if your item arrives with a fault or does not match your order, please contact us within 7 days of receiving it and we will make it right. Your satisfaction genuinely matters to us. If you are wanting to exchange or receive a store credit, please email us.
